My class has been scheduled for May 7th - Thursday to pick up personal items, yearbooks (if preordered and they have arrived at South), return library books, and pay cafeteria charges.
All paper work students have completed must be turned in May 7th.
I will check in all Library books that are in desks, on my bookshelf before I send out a notice of Library books missing by students.

Splash Math will be one of the programs that we will be using next week. Splash Math is on the students website list (see the link below). Click the "sign in" button in the upper right hand corner. Then click "class". The class code is KYTXOH and a list will pop up with the student's name. The students will click on their name. I will send the password for your student through Remind so that your student can log in.
Remember our local PBS station will be showing educational programing for students. The educational programing is from
10-12 am Monday and Thursday for 3rd Grade.

- Have Students watch Ecosystems video on BrainPop. (Just put Ecosystems in the search box and that topic will come up.) After watching the video have students take the quiz and use the Review quiz as that will give immediate answers to the students. After that students can complete the Worksheet section. Students are to write characteristics of an area for Tropical Forest and Arctic Tundra.
Wednesday
- Students are to log into Epic and pick a book or two from the AR list. Read the book and then log into AR, search for the book by the title or author name and take the AR quiz for this book. (students have done this every day at school and know how to do this.). login is last name.first name - (no spaces or caps)/ password is the student's lunch number. - Students are to continue with the Math activities assigned for weeks 4/20 and 4/26 in Study Island if they have not received a Blue Ribbon. They must read the lesson and pass the questions with an 85% or better before they can earn a Blue Ribbon. Be sure to have them read the lesson first then do the practice questions. If the miss too many on the practice questions, then have them read the lesson again.
NOTE: Those students who have not received a Blue Ribbon on the activities assigned last week, they need to complete the lesson already assigned before they can complete the new assignments.

During this time of social distancing due to the Coronavirus we will be offering assignments for students to complete at home. All of the assignments here will be online assignments.
If you do not have internet access or device access other than a cell phone, here is the link to access a packet that can be printed - http://info.edmentum.com/rs/780-NRC-339/images/3rdGrade-Workbook.pdf . If you cannot print the packet yourself, the packet can be picked up at South Cumberland on Monday 4/6 between 8am-3pm.
Staples is also offering free printing of this packet. Parents or Guardians just go to Staples in Crossville to pick up a packet for your student.

Students will have access to Epic (through the student website list) that has thousands of reading books students can choose to read. Students will need to enter the class code of jti5957 to access my class. Then they pick their name and pick a book. I would prefer that they read the book by themselves and not use the read aloud (having it read to them) feature.
If they pick the AR list in Epic, then those books will be in AR for the student to take a quiz and accumulate AR points. The student must log into AR to take the quiz. Any quiz they take on Epic will not transfer over to AR.
